Energiequelle, the German renewable energy company, has expanded its global presence by establishing a subsidiary in South Africa. The company, situated in Cape Town, is committed to advancing sustainable energy solutions in the region.

Stefan Sager is the Managing Director of the local subsidiary, Energiequelle South Africa (PTY) Ltd. He has extensive experience in the wind industry and a robust network for realizing wind and photovoltaic (PV) projects. He is well set to lead the company’s energy investments and partnerships in South Africa.
South Africa faces a bottleneck in its growth trajectory due to a need for more electricity capacity.
Stefan Sager expressed confidence in South Africa’s potential, stating that Energiequelle is actively engaged in the development of wind projects in South Africa
However, the region boasts favorable wind conditions and areas with abundant sunshine, presenting exceptional potential for developing low-carbon energy. The government has set ambitious targets for expanding renewable energies, leading to many projects being executed through extensive tendering processes.
Stefan Sager, who operates as a link between South Africa and Germany, expressed confidence in South Africa’s potential, stating that Energiequelle is actively engaged in the development of wind projects in South Africa, in partnership with others, and that their goal is to increase support and add wind and solar projects.
Energiequelle’s expansion into South Africa aligns with its growth trajectory. In the past year, it has hired 150 new employees to reinforce its commitment to driving the expansion of renewable energies in Europe and South Africa.
